Queueing

After traveling this past week, something that has stood out for me have been queues.

This might be obvious, but since I came across one of these poor examples at the airport I thought I would share:

Especially at the airport we all know the usual tensa barrier mazes and queues that form within them.

Fair enough the queues I stood in, most people were wearing their face masks - in varying degrees of usefulness - not covering their mouths AND noses, wearing them around the neck, letting them hang loose from one ear. But what made me uncomfortable was that with every turn of the snake, I would be facing these people in very close proximity. It might be a one way system, but you are constantly facing people.

There are a few ways of avoiding this, which might mean more tensa barriers or other dividers:

With an extra line of barriers, the distance between one loop of the queue and the next can be extended and hence social distancing adhered to.

If more tensa barriers or an extension of space is not possible, then adding other barriers in between the loops of the queues for example could be an option - i.e. Plexiglas wall dividers, other wall dividing options to avoid easy potential transmission.
